As you can see in the screenshot below, my answer, where the stress falls on the second syllable, is crossed out. As it turned out, it is correct to pronounce this word with an accent on the last word. Having doubted, I naturally went for an explanation by clicking on the button of the same name at the bottom of the screen, which redirected me to Yandex dictionaries. According to one source, the truth is on my side, according to the second, the stress can be placed on both the second and third syllables. It turns out that I'm right and the developers.
Sometimes you are surprised that it turns out that all your life you pronounce the word incorrectly. Here, for example, we always and everywhere hear the word “anticipate” and pronounce it with an emphasis on the last syllable, but it is necessary on the penultimate one.
The shortcomings of the application include the frequent repetition of words. On the one hand, this is even good, especially if a mistake is made in a repeated word. Willy-nilly, you will remember its correct spelling or the correct placement of stress. But here they are repeated in a chaotic order and often those in which you least doubt and make mistakes. It also happens that in the answers themselves there are two absolutely identical ones. And it happens that both identical answers are correct, you choose any and you are wrong. Few of us can boast of 100% knowledge of the Russian language, including myself, but since the developers have taken up such a necessary and noble cause, then spelling and phonetic errors are simply unacceptable here, otherwise what's the point in such applications?
