Every time the kids leave after prom kindergarten, a piece of my soul leaves with them. When I was 9-12 years old, my favorite thing to do was play “hospital” and “school” with my friends. When playing school, I always wanted everything to be like a real teacher - a magazine, notebooks, and a pointer. And I had a school journal with a list of students, neatly made from a notebook, and notebooks with homework, which I really loved to check and grade, always in red ink. My mother’s friend gave me a collection of dictations for my “school,” and my father made a wooden pointer, very similar to the pointer of my first teacher, and the door of an old cabinet served as a board for us.
