Every time the kids leave after prom kindergarten, a piece of my soul leaves with them. When I was 9-12 years old, my favorite thing to do was play “hospital” and “school” with my friends. When playing school, I always wanted everything to be like a real teacher - a magazine, notebooks, and a pointer. And I had a school journal with a list of students, neatly made from a notebook, and notebooks with homework, which I really loved to check and grade, always in red ink. My mother’s friend gave me a collection of dictations for my “school,” and my father made a wooden pointer, very similar to the pointer of my first teacher, and the door of an old cabinet served as a board for us.

And we played... We played for a long time and got great pleasure from the game.

This is how my childhood interest grew into my favorite profession, the profession of a teacher. But this happens sometimes, nothing happens in life by chance... I decided to master a new specialty as a teacher - speech therapist. And now I know for sure that I shouldn’t be afraid to change my profession, change something in my life, or change in general. When you change your profession at the age of 37, learn something again - it’s wonderful, you discover a different side of yourself, you begin to understand that this is really what you’ve been going for for so long.

The profession of speech therapist is my discovery. And although I have only recently been working in this new profession, I believe that I have found my calling. And if a person has found his calling, then work becomes a joy for him, and I never cease to rejoice that I have chosen such a humane profession that harmoniously combines the compassion of medicine, the wisdom of pedagogy and the insight of psychology. Despite all the difficulties of the profession, I love my job and cannot imagine my life without it. What does it mean? But I need to run to work, because “my” children are waiting for me there.I’m riding on the bus and thinking: “Am I valued as a teacher? And yet the main assessment of my work is still ahead. This is a school, a teaching staff, successful educational activities my pupils and their further independent life in society.
