Highly qualified teaching staff ensures educational process with students at a modern scientific and methodological level. Today, the branch employs more than 70 teachers, of which more than 73% have academic degree, and 22% doctor of sciences and the title of professor. Many teachers were awarded honorary titles for their scientific developments and became laureates of various prizes.

Currently, the branch has about 2,000 students and trainees.

Historical information about the Smolensk branch of the Russian University of Cooperation

The Smolensk branch of the Russian University of Cooperation was opened on the basis of Decree of the Central Union of the Russian Federation dated January 17, 2001 No. 16-P and order of the Moscow University of Consumer Cooperation dated No. 74-O dated April 21, 2001.

In 2002, the branch received a license for the right to conduct educational activities in the field of higher professional education No. 24G-1707 dated February 18, 2002, issued by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. In 2006, in connection with the reorganization of the university, the license for the right to conduct educational activities in the field of higher and postgraduate education was replaced by a series A license No. 165352 dated February 28, 2006, issued by the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science for a period of February 18. 2007

Educational activities in the branch have been carried out since 2002 through correspondence education and since 2003 through full-time education. The branch trains highly qualified specialists for consumer cooperation, commercial and non-profit structures of the region and the Republic of Belarus.

In February 2007, the Smolensk branch was re-licensed and increased the maximum number of students to 360 full-time students (License series A No. 227799 dated 02.12.07). In 2007, the branch passed certification and accreditation (Order No. 1304 of 05/04/2007) in four educational programs: 080109.65 “Accounting, analysis and audit”; 080502.65 “Economics and management at an enterprise (trade and public catering)”; 080401.65 “Commodity research and examination of goods; 080301.65 “Commerce (trading business).” In July 2008, the branch successfully passed state accreditation of the educational program 080801.65 “Applied Informatics (in Economics)” (Order No. 1601 of July 21, 2008).

In 2009, the branch opened a new specialty 230201.65 " Information Systems and technologies”, 4 areas of training are also licensed: 080100.62 “Economics”, 080300.62 “Commerce”, 080500.62 “Management”, 080800.62 “Applied Informatics”.
