I love skyscrapers and architecture in general. Contrary to popular belief that all the fun ended in the 19th century, I find both Soviet houses and modern buildings attractive. The era of the USSR left us wonderful constructivism, and multi-storey towers simply fascinate with their appearance, like complex engineering structures. However, I digress, sorry, I'm talking about Baku. The photo shows Flame Towers, the famous Flame Towers, which have become one of the symbols of the city. The first day I went to see them.

Some went to the nearest carpet museum with the hope that the funicular would be up and running within an hour. But I don't want a museum, I want Flame Towers. Soared up the mountain like a whirlwind. It turned out to go not so far, about a kilometer. The climb is not very steep. Only the sidewalks are very narrow.

Baku is called "city of winds", in America Chicago - "windy city". They are very similarly located, from the observation deck in the Upland Park it is clearly visible. There are no skyscrapers, and everything is different, but I immediately remembered.

Baku is changing right before our eyes! In the capital of Azerbaijan every day, new buildings, public centers, skyscrapers appear. However, the scale of this is still incomparable with Dubai. But maybe it's in the future! After all, in 2019 in Baku may appear Azerbaijan Tower – tallest building in the world.

Comparisons between Baku and Dubai can be continued for a long time. In both cities there is active construction for gas and oil money. These cities are becoming the business centers of their region, investors from all over the world are looking at them more and more often, and the best architects of the planet dream of being invited to build buildings there someday.

In order to look even more like their Arab "big brother", Baku is even going to build an artificial Khazar Islands archipelago. Here, the Azerbaijan Tower will become its high-rise dominant.

The height of this skyscraper will be 1050 meters (189 floors), which is 50 meters higher than that of. Now the palm is sent from Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan Tower will become the center of Khazar Islands, built on artificial islands in the Caspian Sea near Baku. It will develop in stages. The total cost of the project is $100 billion, two of which will be spent on the construction of Azerbaijan Tower.

The skyscraper is planned to be completed by 2018-2019, the islands - by 2022. Azerbaijan Tower's main competitor will be the Kingdom Tower, another skyscraper that will be built in Saudi Arabia. According to the project, the height of this structure will be 1001 meters.
