Once upon a time there lived a rich merchant. And that merchant had three daughters. The youngest was considered the most beautiful of them. That's what they called her - our Beauty. And the older sisters grew up proud and pretentious.

The merchant was getting ready to go on business. The older sisters began to ask him to bring rich furs, dresses and hats, jewelry and all sorts of trinkets. And the youngest said:

“Bring me, father, a rose, the likes of which no one has ever seen here.”

The merchant left. His road lay through a dense forest. It was a cold winter day. Snow was falling in thick flakes. The wind howled. His horse got lost in a snowy forest. And suddenly in the darkness of the forest the merchant saw a faint light. He directed his horse into the distant light and soon saw a huge castle in front of him.

The merchant hurried to enter the gate. But, to his surprise, no one came out to meet him. The yard was empty. The merchant entered the castle. But I didn’t meet anyone there either. He opened the gilded doors and found himself in a huge, bright hall. A hot fire was blazing in the fireplace. It was approaching midnight and the merchant was very tired. He went to bed and fell into a deep sleep. In the morning the merchant woke up and looked out the window. To his surprise, winter and frost were gone. The foliage rustled, flowers fragrant among the green lawns. He went out into the yard. Passing by a gazebo covered with roses, he admired the unprecedented buds and the wonderful aroma spread around. Then he remembered the request of his youngest daughter, Beauty, and picked one rose. At the same instant, thunder struck, the sky darkened, and a Monster appeared before him, so disgusting that the merchant froze in horror.

- Ungrateful! - the Beast rumbled. “I saved your life, warmed you, fed you, and you hurt me.” These roses are my only joy and consolation.

- Oh sir! - the merchant begged. - Have mercy on me! I didn't mean to offend you by picking a rose for one of my daughters.

“Okay,” the Beast rumbled. “If one of your daughters agrees to come here, then I will let you go unharmed.” If none of them wants to come, then after three months you must return back and accept death.

What was left to do? The merchant vowed to return and set off on the return journey. The road, as if by magic, led the horse itself, and - lo and behold! — just an hour later the merchant found himself at the threshold of his house.

His daughters ran out to meet him and began hugging and kissing their father. But he was sad and only handed his youngest daughter a beautiful rose, which still emanated a delicate aroma and freshness.

“Take, my Beauty, this rose,” he said, “I paid a very dear price for it.”

The merchant told his daughters what had happened to him. The older sisters never agreed to go to be devoured by the Beast. And the Beauty said:

“Don’t be sad, father, I’ll go to the Beast.”

The next morning they harnessed the horse, and Beauty rode out of the yard. Less than an hour later, the road itself led them to the Beast’s castle.

The open gates invited the traveler to enter the courtyard. The spacious hall greeted her with a luxurious table laden with all kinds of dishes. And in the evening, when thousands of candles were lit, the heavy steps of the Beast were heard in the depths of the castle. The floor and walls shook from his footsteps. The beauty involuntarily shuddered and shrank all over with fear. But she tried not to show her horror in front of the terrible Beast. It looked at the girl, shook its shaggy head and whispered:

“I won’t scare you anymore with my appearance, Beauty.” Try not to get bored in your new home.

The girl felt sorry for this good-natured monster, and she, overpowering herself, extended her hand and stroked the Monster’s furry paw.

“You are so kind,” she smiled tenderly.

The monster backed away and disappeared. From the void it was already heard by Beauty:

— Save-si-i-bo...

Several days passed. There was nothing that reminded the Beast of its existence. The beauty walked in a flowering and fragrant garden, picked ripe fruits, looked into the clear waters of the pond, listened to the heavenly music of invisible musicians. And in the evenings the Beast visited the Beauty, and they had long conversations. Here the subtle mind of this terrible freak was revealed, his speeches were witty and entertaining. The beauty was so accustomed to these evening conversations that, as dusk approached, she was already impatiently waiting for the door to open and a terrible shaggy head to appear. True, now she almost did not notice the ugliness of the Beast, and was not afraid of his loud voice.

One day, Beauty dared to ask the Beast to allow her to visit her father.

“Okay,” agreed the Beast. “But in exactly seven days I’m waiting for you here in the garden.” In order to return, you just need to put on this ring.

And the Beast handed her a thin gold ring. The next morning Beauty found herself back in her village house. As soon as the sisters saw Beauty cheerful and happy, envy entered their souls.

“We need to keep her here longer,” suggested the older sister.

- And then her disgusting Monster will die of melancholy! - picked up the middle sister.

The beauty could not resist their requests and decided to stay for another week. But on the very first night she dreamed that the Beast was lying dead in the garden on the grass and his lips were barely audible pronouncing her name.

- How evil and heartless I am! - exclaimed Beauty.

With these words, she put the ring on her finger and immediately found herself in the Beast’s castle. But no one disturbed the silence of the castle. The beauty was alarmed. Has the Beast really died? In desperation, Beauty rushed to find the Beast. She ran around the entire castle, looked into all its hidden corners and found the Beast in the most remote gazebo by the pond. His helpless body stretched out on the ground. Not a sigh, not a sound escaped from his chest.

- Don't die, please! - exclaimed Beauty. - I love you!

At the same moment, many lights were lit in the castle and in the garden. This radiance and sparkle blinded the Beauty. She closed her eyes, and when she opened her eyes, she did not see the Beast. It disappeared. But next to her stood a handsome prince.

A fairy tale about a beautiful and kind girl and an enchanted prince. A fairy tale similar in plot in Russian literature is The Scarlet Flower.

Beauty and the Beast read

Once upon a time there lived a rich merchant who had three daughters and three sons. The youngest of the daughters was called Beauty. Her sisters did not like her because she was everyone's favorite. One day a merchant went bankrupt and said to his children:
“Now we will have to live in the village and work on a farm to make ends meet.”

Living on a farm, Beauty did everything around the house, and even helped her brothers in the field. The older sisters were idle all day long. They lived like this for a year.

Suddenly the merchant was told good news. One of his missing ships was found, and now he is rich again. He was going to go to the city to get his money and asked his daughters what to bring them as a gift. The elders asked for dresses, and the youngest - a rose.

In the city, having received the money, the merchant paid off his debts and became even poorer than he was.

On the way home, he got lost and ended up in the thicket of the forest, where it was very dark and hungry wolves were howling. It began to snow, and the cold wind chilled to the bones.

Suddenly lights appeared in the distance. As he approached, he saw an ancient castle. Entering its gate, he stabled his horse and entered the hall. There was a table set for one and a burning fireplace. He thought: “The owner will probably come any minute.” He waited an hour, two, three - no one appeared. He sat down at the table and ate deliciously. Then I went to look at other rooms. Going into the bedroom, he lay down on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.

Waking up in the morning, the merchant saw new clothes on the chair next to the bed. When he went downstairs, he found a cup of coffee with warm buns on the dining table.

- Good wizard! - he said. - Thank you for your concern.

Going out into the yard, he saw a horse already saddled and went home. Driving along the alley, the merchant saw a rose bush and remembered the request of his youngest daughter. He drove up to him and picked the most beautiful rose.

Suddenly there was a roar and a disgusting huge monster appeared in front of him.

“I saved your life, and this is how you repay me for it,” he growled. - For this you must die!

“Your Majesty, please forgive me,” the merchant begged. — I picked a rose for one of my daughters, she really asked me about it.

“My name is not Your Majesty,” the monster growled. - My name is Beast. Go home, ask your daughters if they would like to die in your place. If they refuse, then in three months you must return here yourself.

The merchant did not even think of sending his daughters to death. He thought, “I’ll go say goodbye to my family and come back here in three months.”

The monster said:

- Go home. When you arrive there, I will send you a chest full of gold.

“How strange he is,” thought the merchant. “Kind and cruel at the same time.” He mounted his horse and went home. The horse quickly found the right road, and the merchant reached home before dark. Having met the children, he gave the youngest a rose and said:

“I paid a high price for her.”

And he told about his misadventures.

The older sisters attacked the younger one:

- It's all your fault! - they shouted. “I wanted originality and ordered a lousy flower, for which my father now has to pay with his life, but now you stand and don’t even cry.”

- Why cry? - Beauty answered them meekly. “The monster said that I could go to him instead of my father.” And I'll be happy to do it.

“No,” the brothers objected to her, “we will go there and kill this monster.”

“It’s pointless,” said the merchant. — The monster has magical powers. I'll go to him myself. I'm old and I'm going to die soon anyway. The only thing I grieve about is that I am leaving you alone, my dear children.

But Beauty insisted:

“I will never forgive myself,” she repeated, “if you, my dear father, die because of me.”

The sisters, on the contrary, were very glad to get rid of her. Her father called her and showed her a chest full of gold.

- How good! - said the kind Beauty joyfully. “Grooms are wooing my sisters, and this will be their dowry.”

The next day Beauty set off. The brothers cried, and the sisters, rubbing their eyes with onions, sobbed too. The horse quickly found its way back to the castle. Entering the hall, she found a table set for two people, with exquisite wines and dishes. The beauty tried not to be afraid. She thought: “The monster must want to eat me, so he’s fattening me up.”

After lunch, a growling Beast appeared and asked her:

“Did you come here of your own free will?”

- At your place kind heart“, and I will be merciful to you,” said the Beast and disappeared.

Waking up in the morning, Beauty thought: “What happens, cannot be avoided. So I won't worry. The monster probably won’t eat me in the morning, so I’ll take a walk in the park for now.”

She wandered around the castle and park with pleasure. Entering one of the rooms with the sign “Room for the Beauty,” she saw shelving, full of books, and a piano. She was terribly surprised: “Why did the Beast bring everything here if he’s going to eat me at night?”

On the table lay a mirror, on the handle of which was written:

“Whatever the Beauty wishes, I will fulfill.”

“I wish,” said Beauty, “to know what my father is doing now.”

She looked in the mirror and saw her father sitting on the threshold of the house. He looked very sad.

“What a kind monster this monster is,” thought Beauty. “I’m less afraid of him now.”

Beauty, let me watch you eat dinner.

“You are the boss here,” she replied.

No, in this castle your wish- law. Tell me, am I very ugly?

Yes! - answered Beauty. - I don't know how to lie. But then, I think you are very kind.

Your intelligence and mercy touch my heart and make my ugliness less painful for me,” said the Beast.

One day the Beast said:

Beauty, marry me!

No,” the girl answered after a pause, “I can’t.”

The monster cried and disappeared.

Three months have passed. Every day the Beast sat and watched Beauty eat dinner.

“You are my only joy,” it said, “without you I will die.” At least promise me that you will never leave me.

The beauty promised.

One day the mirror showed her that her father was sick. She really wanted to visit him. She told the Beast:

I promised you I would never leave you. But if I don’t see my dying father, life will not be nice to me.

“You can go home,” said the Beast, “and I will die here from melancholy and loneliness.”

No,” Beauty objected to him. - I promise you that I will come back. The mirror told me that my sisters were married, my brothers were in the army, and my father was lying alone sick. Give me a week.

Tomorrow you will wake up at home,” said the Beast. - When you want to go back, just put the ring on the nightstand next to the bed. Good night. Gorgeous.

And the Beast quickly left.

Waking up the next day, Beauty found herself in her home. She dressed herself in her expensive clothes, put on a crown of diamonds and went to her father. He was incredibly happy to see his daughter safe and sound. Her sisters came running and saw that she had become even more beautiful, and, in addition, dressed like a queen. Their hatred for her increased with a vengeance.

The beauty told everything that had happened to her, and said that she must definitely return back.

A week has passed. The beauty headed back to the castle. The insidious sisters began to cry and lament so much that she decided to stay for another week. On the ninth day, she had a dream that the Beast was lying on the grass in the park and dying. She woke up in horror and thought: “I need to go back urgently; and cure him."

She put the ring on the table and went to bed. The next day she woke up in the castle. Putting on her best clothes, she began to wait impatiently for the Beast, but it did not appear. Remembering her strange dream, she rushed into the garden. There on the grass lay a lifeless Beast. She rushed to the stream, took some water and splashed it in the Beast’s face. Her heart was breaking with pity. Suddenly it opened its eyes and whispered:

I can't live without you. And now I die happily, knowing that you are next to me.

No, you don't have to die! - Beauty cried. - I love you and want to become your wife.

As soon as she uttered these words, the entire castle lit up with bright light and music began to play everywhere. The monster disappeared, and in its place lay the most charming of princes on the grass.

But where is the Beast? - Beauty shouted.

“This is me,” said the prince. - The evil fairy bewitched me and turned me into a monster. I had to remain one until a young beautiful girl fell in love with me and wanted to marry me. I love you and ask you to be my wife.

The beauty gave him her hand, and they went to the castle. There, to their great joy, they found Beauty's father, sisters and brothers waiting for them. The good fairy immediately appeared and said:

Beauty, you are worthy of this honor and from now on you will be the queen of this castle.

Then, turning to the sisters, she said:

And you, for your anger and envy, will become stone statues at the doors of the castle and will remain so until you realize your guilt and become kinder. But I suspect such a day will never come.

The beauty and the prince got married and lived happily ever after.

"Beauty and the Beast" summary by Charles Perrault

What does the fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast” teach?- appearance is not the most important thing in a person, the main thing is his rich spiritual world.

The merchant lives in a mansion with six children, three sons and three daughters. All his daughters are very beautiful, but the youngest, Beauty, is the most beautiful, and also kind and pure in heart. For this, the two older sisters (angry and selfish) bully Beauty and treat her like a servant. A merchant loses all his wealth due to a storm at sea that destroys most of his merchant fleet. He and his children are therefore forced to live in a small farmhouse and work in the fields.

Several years later, a merchant hears that one of the merchant ships, which he sent, returned to port, avoiding destruction. Before leaving, he asks his children what gifts to bring them. The eldest daughters asked for precious jewelry and elegant dresses, and the sons demanded weapons for hunting and horses, thinking that their wealth had returned. And Belle asks to bring only a rose, since this flower did not grow in the part of the country where they lived. Arriving in the city, the father discovers that his ship's cargo has been confiscated to pay off his debts. He has no money for gifts.

Returning home, he gets lost in the forest, where he finds a magnificent palace with tables laden with food and drinks, which the invisible owner of the palace has clearly left for him. The merchant quenches his hunger and thirst and stays overnight. The next morning, as the merchant is about to leave, he sees the rose garden and remembers that Beauty wanted a rose. After the merchant has chosen the most beautiful rose, he comes face to face with the disgusting “Beast,” who tells him that he stole the most valuable thing in the entire domain, disdaining the hospitality of the owner of the palace, and must pay for it with his life. The merchant asks for mercy, claiming that he took the rose only as a gift for his youngest daughter.

The Beast agrees to give him a rose for Beauty, but only if the merchant or one of his daughters returns.

The merchant is upset, but accepts this condition. The Beast sends him home with wealth, jewels, and fine clothing for his sons and daughters, and emphasizes that Belle must come to his palace of her own free will. The merchant, having come home, tries to hide everything from Belle, but she learns the whole truth from her father and decides to go to the Beast’s castle herself. The monster receives the girl very kindly and informs her that from now on she is the mistress of the castle, and he is her servant. The owner gave her rich clothes and delicious food, and had long conversations with her. Every evening at dinner, the Beast asks Belle to marry him, but each time he is refused. After each refusal, Belle dreams of prince charming, who begs to answer why she doesn’t want to get married, and she tells him that she can’t marry a monster because she loves him only as a friend. Belle doesn't match the prince and the beast, thinking that the Beast must be holding the prince captive somewhere in the castle. She searches for him and discovers many enchanted rooms, but none of them contain the prince from the dreams.

For several months, Belle lives a luxurious life in the Beast's palace, served by invisible servants, amid wealth, entertainment and many beautiful clothes. And when she gets homesick and homesick for her father, the Beast allows her to visit her father’s house, but on the condition that she returns exactly in a week. Belle agrees to this and goes home with the magic mirror and ring. The mirror allows her to see what is happening in the Beast's castle, and thanks to the ring, she can instantly return to the palace if she spins it three times around her finger.

Her older sisters were surprised to find the younger one well-fed and smartly dressed; they were jealous of her, and when they heard that Belle was to return to the Beast on the appointed day, they asked her to stay another day - they even put onions to their eyes to look like they were crying. In reality, they wanted the Beast to get angry at Belle for being late and eat her alive. Belle is touched by the sisters' show of love and decides to linger.

The next day, Belle feels guilty about breaking her promise and uses the mirror to see the castle. The mirror shows that the Beast lies half-dead from grief near the rose bushes. With the help of the ring, she immediately returns to the palace. Beauty cries over the lifeless Beast, saying that she loves him. Belle's tears fall on the monster and it turns into a handsome prince.

The prince tells Belle that once upon a time an evil fairy turned him into a monster, and that only love could break the curse. The girl was supposed to fall in love with him in the form of the Beast.

The prince and Belle got married and lived happily ever after.

Part 1. ==========

They say that when the Gods want to give you a gift, they wrap it in a problem. And also, when making a wish, you should always remember that it can come true. The young guy, sitting on the veranda of a large stone house, grinned, remembering the chain of events that led to his current situation.

If he knew exactly what some of his actions would entail, he would... definitely do the same. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have what he has now, and his current life suited him more than ever.

It all started a few years ago. He was always a favorite in the family. The eldest son is very handsome boy, not knowing refusal and accustomed to admiration and adoration. He grew up spoiled, but not stupid, so he got away with most of his tricks.

At that time, my father was doing business with Dylan, a man from the north with a very dubious reputation, but great connections. There have been rumors about this man since his arrival in the city. And there were reasons for this: the barbarians of the north always seemed like savages to the southerners, but Dylan, on top of that, did not hesitate to communicate with different segments of the population and achieved his goals with methods that were not always clear-cut. In addition, the appearance of the northerner was... peculiar. Half of his face was disfigured by scars from the fire; his blond hair and cold blue eyes, combined with a heavy gaze, also did not inspire confidence.

But for some reason Mick’s father respected the northerner very much and welcomed him. Mick himself, who appreciated beauty, did not like this man categorically, and he had a very vague idea of the affairs of his parent, and did not want to delve into the essence of the issues. Moreover, his sister was very afraid of being married to this savage, so Mick, who does not always know how to restrain himself, decided to act.

All his antics, relatively harmless, shattered against Dylan’s icy calm and his constant readiness for anything. Only sometimes the guy noticed hostility in the blue eyes. However, to see this, you had to try very hard, and the northerner did not express his feelings for the son of his work partner in any other way.

For a long time, the father had no idea about the cold war unfolding under his nose, until, at a far from the best moment, he himself became the victim of his son’s joke.

- What else? kindergarten? – Miklash walked around the office irritably. - Mick, you're an adult! So what kind of demon are you acting like a child?

– I don’t like this savage! – the guy answered stubbornly.

“Apparently, you’re not very good to him either.” And anyway, why do you care about the people I work with? I'm not forcing you...

– Are you sure you can trust him? – Mick interrupted. “He comes to our house too often.” Rina is already starting to think that this is her future groom!

“It would be a good game,” Miklash nodded thoughtfully to himself.

- What? This freak and Rina? – Mick was indignant.

“How naive you are, my dear boy,” sighed the father. – Someday you will understand that people should not be judged by their appearance... However, let’s return to your question. Yes, I think that this would be the best match for Rina, but... But he doesn’t need it.

- Yes, he is a tyrant! He doesn’t need it, you’d think she’s delighted!..

- He honest man and would not offend your sister; on the contrary, she would be safe with him...

- With a hired killer!..

“He doesn’t always solve sensitive problems by killing, and you know it.” But in this situation, I wouldn’t want to spoil my relationship with him, especially since your sister, as you yourself tell me, doesn’t want this, so there’s no point. You can calm down, nothing threatens her. And I hope you will behave like the mature, reasonable person that you are, and not the quarrelsome boy.

“Okay, father,” Mick agreed reluctantly, making sure his sister was safe.

From that day on, Mick tried not to notice his father's acquaintance, which was harder for him than he was willing to admit. For some reason, for Mick, this barbarian’s attitude of indifference and hostility was very painful, although he could not even admit it to himself.

Rina also calmed down, she even began to communicate with the northerner, and he answered her politely. Mick himself, together with friends like himself, planned another scam-a joke on a young man who was not included in their company. It’s not that he forgot about his dislike for the savage; rather, he tried not to notice the person who irritated him.

His fate was decided during the spring ball. The joke on the loser turned out to be more evil and cruel than the group of young blockheads had expected, and besides, it also attracted the attention of the entire court and the king himself. The king spoke very vaguely, but the older relatives of these blockheads realized that something had to be done with the youth. And the angry Miklash immediately answered his king:

“Forgive me, Your Majesty, my son.” I know he can be unbearable and irresponsible sometimes, but I think it will pass. Moreover, in two weeks he and his husband will leave the country.

– Is your son getting married? – the king was surprised.

And for good reason, such events were usually announced several months in advance, and Mick was an eligible bachelor for both sexes.

– I didn’t say? – Miklash was spectacularly surprised. – My son will become the younger husband of Dylan Severyanin.

“A worthy match,” the monarch nodded approvingly. “If anyone can deal with Mick, it’s the Northerner.” Congratulations to the newlyweds on the upcoming celebration.

“I don’t think we should be in such a hurry,” a third person intervened in the conversation, while the others were digesting what they had heard.

The newly minted groom smiled politely; nothing was now said about his attitude towards the possibility of acquiring a willful younger husband.

“You’re leaving in two weeks, I don’t see any point in stalling.”

- We could discuss future fate your son on my next visit to your country. So that Mick himself would also be present at this conversation, Dylan tried to get rid of an unwanted marriage. Mick was an eligible bachelor for many, but the northerner clearly did not share this belief.

“I don’t see the point, especially since your marriage was approved by the king himself,” Miklash shrugged.

Mick kept his disbelieving gaze on his father. He knew he had angered him, but to that extent...?

The monarch nodded sedately, confirming the words of his entourage, and Dylan retreated, resigned. Apparently, Miklash really could somehow influence the decision of a specialist in solving sensitive problems.

“Father!..” Mick caught up with his parent in the garden.

- Enough! – Miklash responded angrily. “I’m ready to forgive you a lot, but your latest prank goes beyond all limits!” It's time to disperse your gang! And I think Dylan needs to be stricter with you so that all the nonsense comes out!

– I don’t want to hear anything. The ritual will take place in ten days. And God knows, you better not even try to rip it off!

It remained a mystery to Mick why his father had such authority for the northerner, but he no longer talked about canceling the ritual. Mick would have decided that he didn’t care if it weren’t for the man’s look in response to his next attempt to somehow disrupt the preparations for the ritual. Dylan fully shared Mick's reluctance.

Despite all the tricks of the youngest of the grooms, the ritual still took place. Everything was carried out on top level, and if there was another person standing next to Mick, he would be happy. But there was a savage nearby who young man I was incredibly infuriated, so there was no thought about happiness.

“You’re lucky,” his sister whispered when she accompanied him to the carriage that was supposed to take the newlywed to Dylan’s rented house.

- Are you lucky? – her brother asked through gritted teeth. He never came to terms with the fact that he was forced to belong to who knows who.

“He’s good,” Rina sighed. “It’s even a pity that I started panicking then.” Just... give him a chance, consider the one with whom fate has connected you. He's better than most of those around you. At least trust your father. He wouldn't give you away bad person who will offend you...

But Rina’s words fell on Mick’s ears. He didn't want to see anything good in what happened to him. And he considered his father almost a traitor.

The eldest husband himself was waiting for Mick in the house of his new husband. The northerner sat with his eyes closed and his head thrown back on the back of his chair. The servants tried to leave them alone as quickly as possible, so that after a couple of moments the silence was broken only by the crackling of burning wood in the fireplace. When the servants left, Dylan sighed and opened his eyes. For a moment he looked very tired, but it passed so quickly that Mick began to wonder if he had imagined it.

“Well, hello, hubby,” the elder addressed mockingly to Mick standing at the door. - Why are you standing there like a step-brother? Come in, sit down, we need to discuss the current situation.

Mick sat down in the next chair, not taking his wary gaze off his older husband. I still needed to get used to this.

– Why were you silent before the ceremony? – Mick withstood his husband’s unpleasant, hard gaze.

“I have my reasons, you don’t care about them.” In our country, the attitude towards younger husbands is more lenient than yours. So if you keep a low profile and don't attract public attention, we'll get along.

– So you won’t interfere in my life?

– Within acceptable limits. Rumors won’t make me happy,” Dylan smiled unpleasantly. - Punishment will follow immediately. I'm not your father and I'm not going to forgive your antics. And in order to do business, you will go to study.

- Where? And why are you telling me this now?

“I heard you have a gift, you will develop it,” Mick raised his eyebrows in surprise. “I told you that in our country they treat younger husbands a little differently,” Dylan explained to his surprise. “And now I’m talking about this because I have a lot of important things to do and you’ll go home alone.”

“You won’t even spend your wedding night with me, darling?” – Mick drawled.

- Do you have a desire? – the northerner smiled radiantly. This time Mick couldn’t hold his gaze and looked down, shaking his head slightly. When Dylan wanted, his gaze became very expressive. “Then good night, honey.”

The man stood up from his seat and headed towards the exit of the room.

-Will you stay here? – Mick asked tensely. – What are you doing in this city? – the guy turned to the door when his husband did not answer him.

Dylan sighed heavily, but let go of the doorknob and turned to him.

“That is, you send me to your home immediately after the ceremony, and you stay here indefinitely,” Mick summed up. “You don’t like me that much?”

“I have work,” Dylan answered in a surprisingly normal tone. “I don’t know what the outcome of this task may be, I may have to leave in a hurry, you may get hurt if you don’t leave tomorrow.”

- That's not the point. After that...” the guy looked away and shook his head. “My reputation and that of my family will be...” Dylan looked blank. - Rina is not to blame for this, she should not be responsible for my misdeeds, but after this she will not marry normal person“, no one will simply take her, even if her father gives a decent dowry,” Mick stood up, took a few steps towards her husband, but stopped at a decent distance, not knowing how he would perceive his approach.

“Yeah,” Dylan nodded vaguely. – I understand, it seems that I heard something like that, although it was a very long time ago and I was not interested in it.

- Don't do this to her. It’s my fault for this wedding, but not her,” Mick met Dylan’s strangely appraising gaze and fell silent.

Dylan chuckled.

- Interesting.

“I’ll do whatever you want,” Mick understood this pause and his gaze in his own way.

“Definitely,” Dylan nodded. – Go to sleep, tomorrow we have a long journey ahead of us.

The man left the room, leaving the guy alone. He could only hope that he didn’t hear the word “us” and that his husband wouldn’t change his mind until tomorrow.

Mika had to have breakfast alone. He didn’t know where his beloved was hanging around. Dylan arrived in this city alone, but upon learning about the upcoming wedding, he called several people who were supposed to take his younger husband to his new home. Mick practically did not pay attention to them, he had more important things to do, but if Dylan left him in their care, then, apparently, he trusted them.

“Mister, we have to go,” the commander of Dylan’s small detachment addressed Mick.

-Where is he? – the guy asked nervously.

- Who-who, my husband!

“He will be waiting for us at the gate,” the commander answered incomprehensibly. It seems his name was Like, but Mick would not insist on this.

“Okay,” the guy obediently followed into the yard to the harnessed horses.

The horses, by the way, turned out to be expensive, of a famous breed. Snow-white horses were worth a lot of gold coins in this country, and they were also very valuable in the north, so Mick clearly did not marry a poor man. One could only guess what services the clients paid so generously for. Although Mick already knew, his father was right, murder was a last resort measure to solve the problem.

On the way to the gate, Mick could only think about his husband. If Dylan lied to him yesterday, if he wasn’t at the gate... Mick himself was in no danger, he was leaving this country, but he was very concerned about the fate of his sister. And the worst thing is that he could not influence the elder in any way.

Seeing a familiar figure at the gate, the guy sighed with relief. Dylan, noticing his husband, bowed his head slightly, greeting him. Mick bowed back, feeling more than ever that they were being watched. Well, of course, their hasty wedding was discussed not only in the highest aristocratic circles, but also ordinary people. Their family was known. And now this circumstance did not make Mick happy at all.

Besides, for some reason he had no doubt that his hubby would remember this favor for him. And we don’t know how we’ll have to pay, or rather we know, but I didn’t want to think about it. But Mick couldn't do anything differently. Rina deserved all the best and certainly should not have suffered from her brother's stupidity.

“Greetings, dear,” his husband’s voice interrupted his thoughts.

Mick looked up and saw the older man's distant gaze. The northerner’s thoughts were not here.

“Good morning, dear,” Mick replied sweetly, but Dylan didn’t react.

The further road passed in silence. Only after driving a decent distance did Dylan call the commander of his men. Mick heard the conversation well because he was riding next to his husband.

- What? – Dylan abruptly asked the man who drove up.

“Everything is as you expected,” Dylan nodded thoughtfully. - How did you guess?

– Paid to the right people“Dylan shrugged. - So, we act according to plan.

“Okay,” nodded Like, holding the horse.

- What's happening? – Mick asked quietly, seeing Dylan’s men dismounting near the road. They themselves continued on their way.

“I’ll explain later.” Follow me,” Dylan spurred his horse and Mick followed his example. The eldest looked too thoughtful, and it would be possible to find out the details later.

The mad rush lasted for several hours. Dylan chose the road, so Mick soon became completely confused and would not even be able to turn back. Then they drove out onto an abandoned road, where Dylan reined in his horse.

We stopped for the night in the forest, although we had only recently passed a village where we could spend the night. All this time the elder husband was silent. Mick tried to ask questions, but Dylan simply ignored him, and he fell silent, deciding to wait for a rest.

- So what's going on? – Mick asked his question again, watching Dylan make a fire. He did it professionally.

The man shrugged evasively.

- Minor problems due to work.

“Well, well,” Mick chuckled skeptically, but decided not to insist. In his work, this northerner understood everything more than he did.

The night was cool for spring, so Mick was trying to stay close to the fire, watching the fire, when Dylan called to him. The man himself was sitting nearby on a camp blanket.

- What? – Mick asked without even turning his head.

Dylan smiled wickedly, patting the blanket next to him. As much as Mick wanted to express everything he thought, he obediently rose from his seat. After all, the northerner had been honest with him.

– Couldn’t you spend your wedding night yesterday? At least there was a bed,” Mick smiled sarcastically, trying to hide his feelings.

“Go in silence,” came the calm answer.

Approaching, Mick stopped next to his sitting husband, doing nothing. Dylan looked up at him, smiled unpleasantly again and ordered:

- Lie down.

Mick licked his lips nervously, but complied. After which he was very surprised by the actions of the elder - he covered him with a warm cloak, lying down next to him.

“I could have slept there too,” Mick muttered dissatisfied.

“Be quiet and sleep,” Dylan again interrupted his monologue quite calmly.

Soon Mick warmed up - there was a fire on one side, and his husband’s warm side on the other. He himself did not notice how he fell asleep, although the conditions were far from those to which he was accustomed. The next morning Mick didn’t feel so good – he still needed to get used to spending the night in the open air. Dylan was no longer nearby, he was sitting on the other side of the fire, looking for something in his bag. The horses were saddled and, apparently, the northerner was only waiting for the younger one to awaken.

“Eat and let’s go,” Dylan said, without being distracted from his work. How he realized that Mick was awake remained a mystery.

The guy, wincing, rose to his feet.

“I hope we’ll sleep under the roof tonight,” he said grumpily.

“As you say, dear,” Dylan responded indifferently, finally closing the bag.

Mick refused to have breakfast, although his hubby looked at him with great doubt, but did not insist. The road passed in silence until Mick decided to break it. Before that, he watched his husband, but he did not pay attention to him, he was thinking about something of his own.

“Thank you,” Mick said quietly, breaking the silence.

- For what? – Dylan turned to him, which clearly showed that he was not as busy with his thoughts as it seemed to the younger one.

- That he came with me.

“It coincided with my plans,” the man shrugged indifferently.

- Yes? And I thought you wanted to stay. “For work,” Mick grinned.

“With other plans,” Dylan looked expressively, as if anticipating other questions and not approving of them.

“Of course,” Mick nodded, smiling. - So what are your problems now?

“I don’t think you should know that,” Dylan shook his head doubtfully.

– Does this concern me? – Mick immediately frowned. During his cold war he studied the northerner and his studies were not in vain.

- In a sense.

- So what are the problems? – Mick repeated the question restrainedly, trying not to get angry. Dylan's way of answering questions took some getting used to and coming to terms with.

- In terms of? – Mick didn’t understand.

– What do you know about Rajda? – Dylan answered the question with a question.

“My father worked with him,” the guy answered hesitantly, trying to understand what this translation of the topic was for.

– Do you know where he’s from?

“Like you, from the north,” Mick shrugged. - It seems to be from some noble family. He has been living in the south, in our country, for a long time. His father didn't like him, but they worked together. I don't know the details.

- That's all? – Dylan’s gaze was very penetrating.

“No,” Mick answered quietly, lowering his head. “At the New Year’s ball he...” the guy faltered. Dylan didn't rush him. - I drank too much.

- Yeah, it was fun. Did you tell your father?

“He tried, but couldn’t stop me,” Mick shook his head, denying his husband’s version. “He didn’t do anything to me.” Everyone thought I was daddy's boy, but...

“But you studied,” the northerner finished. “Yes, I noticed,” he replied to his husband’s surprised look. “You can’t cope with a professional.”

“Yes, but that was enough for him,” Mick grinned. “I didn’t tell my father so as not to interfere with his work, especially since he didn’t do anything to me.” Apparently he also drank too much.

“I ruined all his plans.”

- In what sense?

– Why do you think he tried to seduce you? – Dylan calmly looked at his husband and grinned, giving him a chance to answer his own question and figure out the situation.

“My father’s money,” Mick suggested hesitantly.

– As I already said, your attitude towards younger husbands is too strict; they are not forgiven very much that would be forgiven to wives. If he had succeeded in his plan, Miklash would have agreed to your marriage with him. He would have no choice.

Mick shrugged. He did not take that incident to heart, he decided that Rajd simply drank too much and was not happy with his action.

- I'm not worth all this. And my father doesn't have much money.

“Oh, you underestimate Miklash,” Dylan snorted. - He will never miss his point. Besides, it's not just about money. Among other things, the status of your husband and not just a husband, but the eldest, would finally make Raja his own in this country. He lived here for many years, but remained a stranger, a savage from the north. Your reputation as everyone's favorite and your father's reputation as a serious man would have allowed him to take the place at court that he so desired. And you underestimate yourself,” Dylan suddenly smiled. Really smiled, something Mick had never seen before. “I think even if a wedding with you gave him nothing but you, he would still come up with something.”

He fell silent. Mick digested what he heard for a while. He didn’t like Razh at first sight, just like Dylan once did. True, he didn’t like Dylan because of his appearance, to be honest, but Rajd because of his look. He looked at him painfully and spoke in hints...

“You didn’t like it either,” Mick remarked grumpily. – You have so much in common!

“Less than you think,” Dylan laughed. – Over the past few years, the only thing in which we agree is the attitude towards our wedding. I don’t know if your father knew about Rajd’s plans when he informed the entire royal court about our wedding, but he did it at the right time.

- Why?

“Raj has some information about your father’s past that could affect you all.” So if it weren't for that message about our wedding in front of the king, I think now you would be preparing to perform the ritual with Rajd. Knowing Miklash, I think he knew about his enemy’s plans, so he did not forgive that trick of yours. And then I was caught at the wrong time.

– Is my family in any danger now? – Mick decided to clarify. He was afraid to hear the answer. If Rajd could blackmail his father...

- No, they don’t have anything that would be interesting to Rajd. Now he will haunt me,” Dylan answered nonchalantly. - He needs you.

“It’s strange that you’re against it,” Mick chuckled sadly.

“You should have been indignant before the wedding, but now you are my family, so Raj will have to calm down.” I cannot operate openly on this earth, so he will try by all means to get you before we cross the border.

- They don’t like him at home?

- Not really. That's why he left and can't come back. This is an intra-family squabble, he did something and was expelled, although this is not official, but he will not interfere there.

- And your people...

- They distract him a little. We need a couple more days to get to the port, and there he won’t be able to do anything.

- It's clear.

During this time, they managed to get to the nearest village, where Dylan even stopped to buy groceries. While the husband dealt with pressing issues, Mick thought about the information received. Intrigues swirled around him, but he did not notice anything. His father was right in calling him a quarrelsome boy. He was used to being admired and loved, but he never thought that this could cause trouble for his family.

And now a stranger to him, who has become his husband, is trying to save him from another stranger, who is also not averse to making him his. He knew he was handsome, he saw it in people's eyes, but now for the first time he thought of it as a curse. It’s good if Dylan is right and Raj won’t touch his family, but what if not? What if he decides to take revenge? What if he catches up with them? It’s unlikely that anyone will help Dylan then, but for some reason he continues to save the unloved younger one.

Until the evening, Mick had not been particularly talkative, and Dylan had never suffered from it at all. Taking into account the wishes of the younger one, they spent that night in an old hay barn on the edge of a huge field. This time, Dylan settled away from the younger one for the night, as if not wanting to touch him. Mick had nothing against it. And towards noon the next day we saw the distant walls of the port city.

“Well, here comes the final part of this tragedy,” Dylan mockingly commented on what he saw.

“You know, you have a peculiar sense of humor,” Mick muttered.

“Get over it,” the elder snorted. “So, if you haven’t decided to change your husband during this time... and even if you have, then still do what I tell you.” Otherwise, this tragedy will not end well.

“Are you sure my family is not in danger?” – Mick asked quietly. This question haunted him from the moment he heard this story.

“I told you, you underestimate your father.” All their troubles, forgive me, were because of you. If I couldn't protect you, he would never have agreed to the ritual. And he can protect your sister himself; she doesn’t attract as much attention as you do. Sweet girl.

“We should have taken her as a wife,” Mick advised.

“Yes, I’m generally against a wedding with me as a husband,” Dylan told him confidentially. - Well, let's go, shall we?

Mick obediently followed his husband, trying to understand his train of thought. Telling him the current situation, he was completely different, as if he had let him closer, removed the blocks. And now he again acted like he was with a stranger he didn’t like. Although Mick knew how his husband treated him, for some reason this attitude hurt him, although he tried not to pay attention to it.

No one was waiting for them in the city. Apparently, Laik completed the task assigned to him, and his masters managed to get to the ship without problems, so that by evening they were already far out to sea, on their way to the cold and harsh northern country.

Mick noticed that it was really cold there when he got off the ship. There was snow everywhere. At home, snow also fell in winter, but not in such quantities, and it had never been so cold. The prudent Dylan had gotten warm clothes from somewhere before setting off, so they were not in danger of freezing.

– Is it always this cold here? – looking at the steam from the breath, Mick asked.

- Get used to it.

- Is it always true? - such a prospect horrified the heat-loving southerner.

“No,” Dylan chuckled. - Only six months. The remaining six months are tolerable. And now it’s spring, and not real winter cold.

– Is it spring?

- Yeah, soon the snow will melt and it will be warmer. You'll see.

“Where can I go?” Mick answered without enthusiasm and fell silent.

They spent almost three days on the ship and during this time he hardly saw his husband. Dylan advised him to stay in the cabin, and Mick did so. True, not because of obedience, but because of well-being. Mick did not like sea travel.

A covered carriage drawn by a pair of gray stallions was waiting for them in this city. The driver, already a gray-haired, plump man, ceremoniously greeted Dylan in the northern dialect. Mick didn't know the language well, but he still understood something. You will also have to learn the language.

– Is this your husband, sir?

“Yes, Mirit, his name is Miklash,” Dylan nodded.

– Zara will be glad that you have finally settled down. We thought you would never perform the ritual and would remain alone.

– Fate, as always, decided everything for me. Let's go home.

“As you order, sir,” the satisfied driver opened the door for them.

While they were talking, Mick caught the looks of the local population, and he didn't like them. He wouldn't like them if he were a free man here. Now even more so. He had a vague idea of his position in a foreign country. At home he knew his place, even if he didn’t like it. Here everything was different.

Before they could sit down, another person approached them. Like all northerners, fair-haired and light-eyed, he looked one and a half times older than Dylan and looked around as if this city belonged to him.

“Dylan, you’re back,” the man gravely greeted the elder, like an old acquaintance. – Is this your husband? Good,” Mick threw a hostile look at the stranger and stared at the ground again. They discuss him like a horse at the market. “So this is the treasure you refused our beauties for, and I understand you.” If I didn't have a wife, I would argue with you.

He would be happy to get rid of me anyway, Mick thought gloomily. Here he will be treated the way his elder treats him. When Dylan tried to explain it to him, he didn't understand until he saw the stranger's attitude. Now everything depended on Dylan, if he showed disdain or indifference, life here would become hell for Mick.

“He really is a treasure,” Dylan agreed. – As you said, it was worth waiting for the ritual. And no one will get it so easily, I don’t intend to miss out on mine. Mick, go to the carriage, don’t be cold, I’ll be right there.

Mick nodded without raising his head, feeling grateful to the elder. The driver did not close the door behind him tightly, and therefore he heard the conversation.

- You returned earlier than expected.

“Yes, I like to give surprises to those who try to plot me,” Dylan smiled unpleasantly. “I saw the way you looked at him.” Don’t even think about it and tell your crazy daughter to stay away. I'll see you next door, you'll have one less child. I couldn’t stand her before, but now, don’t blame me, I have someone to protect.

-Are you threatening me?

- Am I threatening? Who do you take me for? I don't throw around words like that. I promise you, keep her under control,” Dylan, without saying goodbye, headed towards the carriage.

- Who is this? – Mick asked warily.

“Never mind it,” the husband waved him off.

“Will they all... treat me like this?” – the younger one asked with poorly concealed disgust. At home they treated the younger ones more strictly, but no one allowed such views on someone else’s husband or wife.

- No, only those who don’t particularly like me.

“Comforted me,” muttered Mick.

“It’s time to get used to being looked at like that.”

- Not like that. At home…

“You were admired, but here you are a coveted trophy for many reasons, and your appearance is not the least of them.” But the essence is the same - they want to possess you.

Mick didn’t argue, he just made a mental note to find out who this stranger was and what Dylan meant when he talked about his daughter.

- How... how should I behave here? I don't know your rules.

“Since when do you care about propriety?” – There was mockery in Dylan’s voice.

Mick slowly inhaled and exhaled and calmly answered:

“You promised to punish me for the rumors.”

"Beauty and the Beast", authored by Charles Perrault, is known throughout the world. And for good reason! A beautiful story about love, loyalty and devotion makes every reader dream that real feelings still exist. The fairy tale carries a very important meaning, which contains the basic principles of morality necessary for every person connected with someone with a tender feeling.

The plot of the tale

The plot of “Beauty and the Beast” centers on a girl named Belle, who by chance ends up in an enchanted castle. She was distinguished by her kindness and soft heart. Belle was the youngest of three sisters, but at the same time the most meek and affectionate. The girl's older sisters measured everything in money, without knowing its value. Belle's father was involved in his business for a long time, and the family lived quite richly.

One day, the old father’s enterprise failed, and the family had to leave their house in the city, exchanging it for a small but cozy one outside the city. My father earned his living exclusively by physical labor. None of the daughters, except Belle, helped him. The youngest girl understood how difficult it was for her father to feed his family on his own, so she supported him in the household.

An unexpected letter

The author of "Beauty and the Beast" continues his tale. Suddenly, the father of the main character receives a letter saying that perhaps the old businessman’s enterprise can still be saved. The old man goes to the city to find out if there is really a chance to improve all the family’s financial affairs. As he leaves, he asks his children what they need to bring from the city. The eldest daughters, hoping that their father’s fortune will eventually return, ask the old man for expensive jewelry. Belle says that she doesn’t need any gifts, she will be glad if her father brings her a red rose, because roses don’t grow in their area.

False hope

Having reached the city, the elderly man learns that part of his fortune, which could have been saved, was seized for debts. Realizing that he will not be able to improve family affairs, he is extremely upset. In addition, his daughters will be very sad that he was unable to purchase jewelry.

As a result of all these troubles, the old man simply becomes depressed and heads home. Having chosen a path through a dark forest, he returns through the darkness, but loses his way and begins to wander through the forest. Not finding the right path for a long time, the old man suddenly sees a huge ancient castle in the distance. It is there that he turns, hoping that there he will be offered an overnight stay, and he will be able to go home at dawn with new strength.

Mysterious castle in the forest

The author of “Beauty and the Beast” brings a little horror and mysticism to the fairy tale. Having reached the huge doors of the castle, the old man tries to knock several times, but no one opens the door for him. With surprise, the tired traveler notices that it is not locked. He enters the castle and sees that from the inside its architecture is very old and beautiful. At the same time, the castle is very dark and damp, as if no one has lived in it for a long time. Having called the owner several times, the old man realized that the castle was probably abandoned. He decides to walk along it to make sure. Entering one of the huge halls, he sees that it is completely lined with tables, and on the tables there is an unprecedented number of different treats. The old man is very surprised, but he is so hungry that he decides to take the opportunity to have dinner. Having eaten a hearty meal, the tired traveler remains overnight in the castle with the firm intention of continuing his journey home in the morning.

Waking up at dawn, the man left the castle and saw that a huge bush was growing nearby, covered with beautiful flowers. Coming closer, the old man saw that they were roses. He picked one flower, the largest of all, thinking that at least his youngest daughter would receive the gift she asked for. Just before departure, the traveler is suddenly attacked by a huge and scary beast. The monster says that roses are the most valuable thing he has in the castle, and the old man will have to pay with his life for picking a flower. The frightened man explains to the beast that these flowers are very beautiful, and one of his daughters really wanted to see a rose. Then the beast sets his own condition: after the old man gives the rose to his daughter, he will be obliged to return to the castle himself or send the very girl who asked for the flower to the monster. The traveler has no choice but to agree to these conditions.

Father's promise kept

Upon returning home, the old man gives Belle the beautiful rose that he picked from the mysterious castle, whose owner is a terrible beast. The father did not want to tell his daughter about what happened, but the young girl still asks everything from her father. Having learned what promise he made to the monster, Belle sets off without hesitation.

New life in a magic castle

The author of "Beauty and the Beast", Charles Perrault, continues his fairy tale with extraordinary, magical events that happen to the main character. Having reached the castle, Belle meets the same monster. He informs the girl that now she is the mistress of his castle, and he is her humble servant. The monster offers Belle a huge variety of beautiful, rich dresses, and every evening invites her to have dinner together, to which the girl agrees.

In addition, the monster asks Belle to marry him every day, and every evening the girl refuses. At night she dreams of a handsome prince who asks her why she doesn’t marry the beast, and the girl meekly replies that she loves him only as a friend. Belle does not see the connection between that terrible monster and the prince. Only one thought comes to the girl: the beast is keeping that prince locked up somewhere. She repeatedly tried to look for the main character of her dreams in the castle, but each time the search was fruitless.

Mutual agreement between the beast and the girl

Belle lives in the castle for several months. She misses her father and sisters very much. A yearning girl asks the monster to let her go home for a while so she can see her loved ones. The beast understands her sadness and gives her permission. But at the same time he sets a condition: the girl must return to the castle in exactly a week. In addition, Belle receives a magic mirror and a ring from the beast. With the help of the mirror, she will be able to see what is happening in the castle in her absence, and with the help of the ring, she will be able to return to the castle at any time if she twirls it on her finger three times. Belle agrees to all the conditions and happily goes home.

A trip home and a return to your loved one

Belle comes home in a very beautiful and rich dress. She tells her father and sisters, who are burning with envy, that the beast is actually very kind. Therefore, the day before her departure, the older sisters suddenly begin to ask Belle to stay one more day, explaining that they will miss her very much. Believing and moved by the sisters' words, Belle decides to stay another day. In fact, the sisters were driven to such words by envy. They really hoped that if their younger sister, who had managed to arrange her life so well, was late for the monster, then upon his return he would eat her alive.

Waking up in the morning, Belle felt very guilty before the beast. She decided to look in the mirror to see how he reacted to her not being back on time. The girl saw that the monster was lying barely alive near the rose bushes. Belle immediately went to the beast using the ring.

Seeing that the beast was barely breathing, Belle bent over him, began to cry heavily and beg him not to die, saying that she loved him and would not endure such a loss. At that same moment, the monster turned into the handsome prince who the girl dreamed about so often. The prince told Belle that he had once been bewitched by an old witch, and this spell could only be lifted true love. Since then, the prince and Belle lived long and very happily.
